Choosing the Right Gummy
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) from a third-party lab ensures that products are free from contaminants, pesticides, heavy metals, and molds, and that the cannabinoid potency is accurate.
Type of CBD
- CBD isolate: Products strictly contain CBD from the hemp plant. There are no other compounds, like THC, present.
- Broad-spectrum CBD: Products contain other cannabinoids from the plant, such as CBN and terpenes, and might contain traces of THC. Although they might not be as effective as the full-spectrum products, they are best for individuals who don't want THC exposure.
- Full-spectrum CBD: Full spectrum extract contains all the compounds the plant has and has not undergone further distillation or refinement. The THC is less than 0.3% by dry weight, as per the 2018 Farm Bill.
When taking cannabinoids like CBD, CBG and CBN, it is important to start with a low dose and increase it gradually. Although non psychoactive, cannabinoids can have different effects on different people. Gummies can be consumed daily. However, the amount that’s best for you will depend on your body’s chemistry, weight, and experience with CBD. It can take time to feel the effects of CBD. When beginning a gummy regimen, it is recommended to wait at least 2 hours before taking another gummy.
The best option for avoiding artificial additives, high fructose corn syrup, or animal products, is to choose a gummy made with natural flavors and real sugars. Some people might not want to have THC in their systems, others may worry about a drug test. Whatever the reason, if it's something you care about, checking the level of THC in the product before purchasing it is an important step.
